Job Title: Electrical Engineer II

Biogen is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our Facilities Engineering team. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for electrical infrastructure, including 3000KV+ power supply and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply electrical power supply and distribution expertise to specify 480+ electrical panels, program VFDs, and develop site standards.
  • Bridge the gap between equipment and power supply, create standards for control of electrical infrastructure.
  • Support facilities operations by troubleshooting issues and identifying equipment improvements or power optimization.
  • Develop validation protocols, provide expertise to associated equipment & instrumentation design modifications.
  • Lead electrical design on projects, procurement, implementation to maintain site functions.
Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7 years of transferrable experience.
  • Practical knowledge of the application of FDA GMP and EMA regulations.
  • Expert in electrical power supply and distribution.
  • Experience with automation integrated generator back up power, 3000KV+ electrical infrastructure, and 480V+ power panels.
  • Ability to configure variable frequency drives including integration into utilities, process manufacturing and & laboratory instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and understand control panel wire diagrams.
  • Competency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point MS SharePoint, and MS Project.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with low voltage control panel wiring, and related software (i.e. Delta V, DCS, DAS, Smart Instrumentation and PLC systems).
  • Other support utility experience preferred.
  • Experience defending facilities procedures and practices to regulatory authorities.
  • Experience in GMP biotechnology/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Validation experience.
