Job Overview

Position Purpose:

Oversee and enhance a portfolio of esteemed clients in loan and deposit accounts, ensuring adherence to established lending and operational guidelines while maximizing profitability for the Bank with minimal risk exposure. Engage in all responsibilities and interact with both internal and external stakeholders in a manner consistent with the Company's Core Values of Teamwork, Integrity, and Exceptional Service (TIES); Customer Experience Competencies of Customer Interaction, Empowerment, and Ownership; and Fundamental Skills of Listening, Oral Communication, Written Communication, Action Orientation, Thoroughness, and Problem Solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Growth for Loans & Deposits:

Attract new business in both commercial and retail sectors through a structured and focused outreach strategy utilizing both new and existing resources. Build and sustain a network of professional contacts for referrals and advice. Solicit recommendations from various departments within the Bank. Expand the loan and deposit portfolio with secure and profitable opportunities from both current and new sources. Identify new avenues for fee income and enhance the overall profitability of the business portfolio. Deliver exceptional account maintenance and service for the assigned portfolio through regular communication with clients and a commitment to providing quality service and expert financial guidance. Maintain and oversee the financial profiles of high-value clients within the portfolio. Represent the Bank at community and civic events, particularly those that qualify under CRA activities.

Team Portfolio Development:

Support team members in achieving collective goals, portfolio management, and responsibilities. Participate in sales meetings to discuss outcomes of sales and outreach activities, providing feedback to the Team Leader on strategies to improve goal achievement. Accountable for meeting targets across all responsibilities.

Investment and Trust Revenue Generation:

Initiate new business in investment and trust sectors through a systematic and targeted outreach program leveraging both new and existing resources. Cultivate and maintain a network of trusted professional contacts for advice and referrals. Explore new sources of fee income.

Loan Management, Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Ensure the quality of loans within the assigned portfolio through diligent oversight and collection efforts, staying informed of trends and developments that may impact the quality of the portfolio. Monitor all credits and downgrade loans as necessary. Enhance personal and professional development through education and by staying updated on bank policies, procedures, and offerings. Achieve satisfactory ratings on audits.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is required.

Experience:

Officer I: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial lending and deposit acquisition, with a proven track record of success.

Officer II: Minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial lending and deposit acquisition, with a proven track record of success.

Officer III: Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial lending and deposit acquisition, with a proven track record of success.

At least 2 years of relevant experience in Private Banking is required.

At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role is required.

Experience in Financial Planning and Investment Services is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) is mandatory prior to undertaking any duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to perform light physical tasks and to lift items such as boxes, files, and papers up to 20 pounds.
  • Proficient in operating standard office equipment, including phones, copiers, personal computers, and other relevant mechanical or electronic devices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders. Ability to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions.
  • Capability to read and comprehend bank-related documents.
  • Ability to work in a traditional office environment, involving prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation. Adaptability to different work settings as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
