Job Title: Power Systems Forecaster

We are seeking a skilled Power Systems Forecaster to join our team at Strategic Staffing Solutions. As a Power Systems Forecaster, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate forecasts of renewable energy resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Forecasting and monitoring renewable energy resources
  • Organizing and maintaining databases housing historic real-time, hourly, and daily weather, renewable resources, and other pertinent data
  • Creating, maintaining, and analyzing databases for effective optimization of renewable forecasting
  • Evaluating potential inefficiencies in current procedures and recommending improvements
  • Developing hypotheses to improve forecasting accuracy for renewables
  • Researching, developing, and creating plans to enhance the solar forecast and other energy models
  • Developing and implementing new analytics tools and interfaces using computer programming
  • Validating and improving the accuracy of daily solar forecasts
  • Providing meteorological insight and forecasting support to Operations and other internal groups as necessary
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Economics, Data Science, Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, Engineering, or closely related field
  • Entry-level position, but any pre or post-graduate experience will be considered favorably
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerBI, along with data retrieval and manipulation in multiple database formats
  • Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: SQL/Oracle, R-Studio, Python, VBA, or similar
