Practice Manager - Veterinary Medicine

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a skilled Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our veterinary hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient workflow, excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive culture built on shared values and direct communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of inventory, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining adequate stock levels of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and veterinary team to optimize patient care and workflow.
  • Hire, train, and mentor staff members, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide support and guidance to team members, stepping in to assist whenever necessary.
  • Motivate staff and help build and maintain morale.
  • Utilize feedback from clients, staff, and management to identify areas of improvement and implement appropriate changes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to hospital operations, finances, and inventory management.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in veterinary medicine is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, CVMP, or related field preferred.
  • Three years of supervisory experience required.
  • Three years or more of managing a veterinary practice preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to show empathy towards clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated commitment to team development and mentorship.
  • Capable of leading, managing, and coaching staff at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and expand knowledge of veterinary medicine and practice management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated competence in budgeting and financial reporting, including reading and analyzing a P&L statement.
