Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Clinical Supervisor to join our team at Los Alamos Medical Center. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to our nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive and professional work environment.
  • Assist management with orienting, supervising, and evaluating the performance of nursing staff, ensuring adequate coverage on all shifts and assuming a patient assignment when necessary.
  • Assist with monitoring staff compliance with facility policies and unit directives, completing all required modules to fulfill preceptor requirements, and maintaining a positive and professional attitude that encourages professional growth.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure continuity and consistency, collaborating with the Director to evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
  • Respond to complaints about patient care and related service, managing through established channels, and performing role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
  • Ensure staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care, integrating evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols, and assisting the Director with performance improvement initiatives for units.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Current NM RN licensure or appropriate RN Compact licensure to start.
  • New hires and transfers must have current BLS and ACLS upon hire, with PALS/ENPC and NRP obtained within six (6) months from hire.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision, with experience in Intensive Care and Emergency Room preferred.
