Job Summary:

As a key member of the FHI 360 team, the Associate Director, Workforce Programs will play a critical role in directing workforce projects and managing a team. This position requires a strong understanding of workforce development and justice programming, as well as excellent leadership and management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and management support to a team of workforce development professionals.
  • Direct workforce projects and ensure compliance with funder regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to build the capacities of project team members and non-profit organizations.
  • Coordinate with other members of the leadership and management team on management, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Support programming staff in collecting, documenting, and disseminating lessons learned and best practices.
  • Lead proposal and development efforts for sustainable growth and increase the funder base.
  • Monitor and provide technical assistance and leadership of executed contracts within the workforce development department.
  • Review and approve partnership contracts, budgets, and reports.
  • Ensure routine monitoring visits to the field to ensure relationship building, compliance, and quality project implementation.
Requirements:
  • 10 years of relevant experience in workforce development and justice programming, including 5 years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in sector-specific or multi-sector project management and implementation.
  • Experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO) and with justice-impacted, opportunity youth, or other underrepresented groups.
  • Strong knowledge of Department of Labor and/or Department of Justice programs, funding mechanisms, and general contracting and reporting requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage effective teams and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education:

Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Business, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Public Administration, Youth, or Related Fields. Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.

Work Environment:

Typical office environment. Ability to spend long hours looking at a computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

Approximately 15% of the time.
