Key Responsibilities:
  • Education and Certification: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory, and must be obtained within two weeks of starting.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficiency in using medical equipment such as wheelchairs, gurneys, and electric beds.
    • Strong human relations skills to interact with patients and staff.
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to patient care needs.
    • Excellent time management skills to handle a high volume of tasks efficiently.
  • Experience and Nature of Supervision: Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred. As a Patient Transporter, you will directly report to the Radiology Manager.
  • Work Environment: You will be exposed to various bodily fluids, infections, and diseases. Universal precautionary measures must always be followed.
  • Physical Requirements: The role involves interacting with patients in high-stress situations. Working hours may vary, with flexibility needed for sudden schedule changes and emergencies. Physical abilities include frequent stooping/bending, occasional squatting/crouching, occasional crawling/kneeling, continuous manual dexterity, occasional standing, continuous walking, frequent lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs, and occasional carrying up to 100 lbs.
