Electrical Project Engineer Opportunity

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a challenging role in complex system design? Do you have a passion for leading projects and mentoring junior engineers? We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at Farnsworth Group, a certified Great Place to Work for eight consecutive years.

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will lead the day-to-day production of industrial, oil & gas, water/wastewater, and other technically complex projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assuming multi-project responsibilities for full Electrical design, including Power distribution, Lighting, Telecommunications, Controls, Renewable Energy Systems, and electrical MV systems design for industrial and oil and gas markets.
  • Engaging in code research and application, fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions, preliminary schematics through final designs, calculations, equipment specification, sizing, and layout, coordination with other production staff, preparation of accurate Electrical system construction drawings and specifications, and submittal review and construction administration.
  • Interfacing with other disciplines, clients, and contractors and maintaining project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality.
  • Mentoring engineers, designers, and drafters.


Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in technically complex system design.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer License (PE) is required.
  • Wide range of design experience, including industrial power distribution, controls, and MV systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with others and work on multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to solve complex power engineering problems.
  • Experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of codes and standards associated with electrical power, including National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and applicable IEEE Standards.
  • Ability to pass background checks and willingness to comply with immunization requirements that our industrial clients may require to access their facilities.
  • Ability to complete occasional travel to client sites in support of projects.
