Estimator Job Description

Per Sé Group is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing detailed estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our estimating process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
  • Prepare detailed trade scopes of work and backup documentation for review.
  • Solicit project-specific proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating them for completeness and competitiveness.
  • Develop options and recommend the best value solution based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Assist Operations with awarded contracts and projects, including estimating and pricing change orders and facilitating the resolution of contractual issues.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or other scheduling-related systems.
  • Experience working with On Screen Takeoff and/or MC2 type software.
  • Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, estimating techniques, and cost control.
  • Ability to prepare proposals with minimum supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates should be able to clearly articulate bid inclusions, exclusions, and proposal clarifications with owners and subcontractors.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management.
  • 4+ years of estimating experience.
