Job Title: Senior Surgical Pathology Coordinator

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Surgical Pathology Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our pathology department, you will be responsible for providing advanced-level technical and clerical support to our surgeons, pathologists, and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Registration and insurance verification of private consult cases
  • Accessioning of specimens according to approved protocols
  • Documentation of materials received
  • Liaison between clients and BWH Pathology
  • Timely receipt of slides and blocks
  • Organization and management of the Breast Pathology Service
  • Interfacing with multiple individuals and institutions
  • Day-to-day service activities related to consult cases
  • Ordering, picking up, and facilitating the handling of materials
  • Organizing case lists for Radiological/Pathological bi-weekly conferences
  • Creating documentation for research proposals
  • Coordinating Fellowship Program interviews and observer ships
  • Maintaining Breast Fellowship milestone achievements
  • Collating and organizing Quality Assurance data
  • Assisting in credentialing and re-credentialing document organization and submission
Requirements:
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years applicable experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting
  • Understanding and use of advanced-level medical terminology
  • Experience using PowerPath - preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge and use of intermediate medical terminology
  • Experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting preferred
  • PowerPath, EPIC knowledge preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of billing operations required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office application required
  • Ability to type 60 WPM and complete data entry with a high level of accuracy
