Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pathology Assistant to join our team at Labcorp, a leading provider of medical laboratory services. As a Pathology Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care by assisting pathologists in the examination and diagnosis of tissue samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complete dissection and gross description of tissue samples, adhering to departmental guidelines and quality control policies.
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a professional environment, adhering to high ethical standards and integrity.
  • Identify and report any issues that may affect test performance or reporting of results.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless workflow and efficient operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science.
  • Completion of a NAACLS accredited PA program is a plus.
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology is strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of grossing experience in small biopsies and complex surgical cases.
  • Proficient in computer systems, with familiarity with laboratory information systems a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
