Process Catalyst Specialist

USA DeBusk, LLC is a leading provider of mechanical and industrial cleaning services. As a Process Catalyst Specialist with our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of downstream energy sector facilities.

The position requires work in oxygen-rich, fertilizer, and petrochemical plants/refineries that involve confined space entry. You will be responsible for entering single/multi-bed reactors or other enclosures, some of which contain an oxygen-deficient atmosphere.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Vacuum catalysts or other materials, spread and load them, or shovel them to the outside of the reactor.
  • Dismantle and/or install various reactor hardware items.
  • Clean, wipe, wash, or scrape relevant areas of the reactor or other enclosure.
  • Take samples of catalysts or other materials.
  • Video-tape specified areas of concern.
  • Assist in the removal or replacement of all items from or into the reactor.
  • Set up and dismantle unloading and reloading equipment, including screeners, drum dumpers, airlocks, dust collectors, cooling/refrigeration units, and other major components.
  • Perform various degrees of maintenance on all equipment under direct and indirect supervision.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in the industrial cleaning industry.
  • The ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • BASIC mechanical skills and knowledge of associated tools.
  • Familiarity with safety training skills.
  • Ability to perform work in enclosed (confined) spaces if required.
  • Basic communication skills.
  • Medical clearance, including annual full respirator clearance, pulmonary function testing, physical fitness evaluations, biological screening if required, urinalysis screening, audiometric testing, etc.
  • Pass 3rd Party Consortium alcohol, drug, and hair follicle testing for controlled substances.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Obtain a TWIC (transportation worker identification card).
  • An acceptable MVR and valid driver's license if authorized to operate company vehicles and motorized equipment, including forklifts, etc.
  • Physical capability to perform all duties and responsibilities assigned, specifically lifting 50 pounds.
  • Physically capable of standing and/or walking continuously for long periods of time if necessary.
  • Capable of climbing, balancing, bending/stooping, and kneeling continuously.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and scaffolds (vertical and inclined) to heights over 10 feet.
  • Frequently crouch, push/pull, squat, and work above the shoulders during the performance of daily job routines.
  • Capable of working in and around oxygen-deficient atmospheres, such as IDLH atmospheres.
  • Physically capable of working outdoors (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
  • Capable of wearing personal protective equipment, including hard hats, gloves, mono goggles, safety glasses, double & single hearing protection, fire retardant clothing, full face respirators, life support helmets, and equipment for inert entries, etc.
  • Capable of driving vehicles with the appropriate license.
Work Environment:
  • Heavy industrial, chemical plants, and refineries.
  • Sustained physical effort, climbing, wearing supplied air and air-purifying respirators, exposure to dust, outdoor work, and 12-14 hour shifts days or nights.

This position offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, and includes benefits like medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
