Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Coordinator of the Louisiana Autism and Related Disabilities Project (LASARD), the selected candidate will deliver direct support and coaching in evidence-based educational strategies to teachers across various districts and schools. This role includes modeling effective practices with students and their families.

The incumbent will collaborate with the LASARD team to create and distribute training materials and technical assistance documentation. Additionally, the individual will be involved in the planning, organization, and execution of professional development initiatives statewide.

It is essential for the incumbent to stay informed about the latest research and recommended practices in autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities to continuously enhance training and technical assistance resources.


Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Special Education or a related discipline

Licenses/Certifications: Louisiana certification in Special Education or relevant areas

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience with children diagnosed with ASD and/or developmental disabilities.

Substitution Policy: A Master's specialist degree with 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. may substitute for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education: Master's Degree

Preferred Experience: Demonstrated effectiveness in developing and delivering presentations, along with experience in teaching and research-based strategies within the last three years.
