Position Overview:

The Clinical Pharmacist plays a crucial role in promoting safe and effective medication practices within a healthcare setting. This position involves the careful interpretation of physician prescriptions, accurate dispensing of medications, and ongoing monitoring of patient therapies to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safe administration of medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders.
  • Dispense pharmaceuticals with precision and provide essential drug information to healthcare professionals.
  • Evaluate patient medication profiles and make recommendations to enhance therapy effectiveness while minimizing risks of drug interactions and adverse effects.
  • Manage medication inventories to meet the needs of various clinical scenarios.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, complemented by strong mathematical proficiency.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy software and keyboarding skills are preferred.
  • Proficient in word processing applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical and nursing teams.

Qualifications Required:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of residency training (PGY1 or PGY2).
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
  • ACPE IV certification is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage a high workload.
  • Strong auditory and visual skills for interpreting orders and utilizing communication devices.
  • Good hand-eye coordination for performing aseptic techniques.
