Join the University of Texas at Austin team as a Registered Nurse, Circulator in our Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating nursing care provided to surgical patients during the intra-operative period.

About this Role

We are seeking an experienced nurse with a minimum of three years intra-operative experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have active Texas RN licensure, ACLS certification, and knowledge of current surgical procedures and anesthesia care.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, organizing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate practical, technical or specialized knowledge and skills required for the role of the peri-operative nurse in compliance with regulations and standards of practice.
  • Facilitate transition between surgical procedures, demonstrating knowledgeable patient management and anticipating needs of surgeons.
  • Contact patients in advance of procedures, perform thorough patient interviews and assessments, and assure detailed time out processes.
  • Participate in hand-off communication to PACU staff to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
  • Active Texas RN licensure
  • Minimum of three years intra-operative experience
  • ACLS certification within six months of hire
  • Knowledge of current surgical procedures and anesthesia care
Salary and Benefits
