Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling follow-up appointments, canceling/rescheduling appointments as needed, and arranging for patients to have financial counseling. This is a high-volume clinic setting, and the ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Schedule follow-up appointments in the practice management system following provider orders and office protocols.
- Cancel/reschedule appointments as needed and notify appropriate clinic personnel.
- Arrange for patients to have financial counseling as required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
- Cover for other front office functions as requested.
- May schedule outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon request and obtain necessary authorization and pre-certification as required.
High School diploma or equivalent required. At least 3 years of office experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with computer systems is a must, with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) being a plus.
The physical demands of this role include sitting for long periods, stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. The work environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
