Key Responsibilities
  • Therapeutic Play Activities: Develop and implement individualized play plans to promote emotional and cognitive development in pediatric patients.
  • Child Development Support: Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide support and guidance to children and their families, enhancing their adjustment to the hospital experience.
  • Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of child life programs, ensuring alignment with Northwestern Memorial Healthcare's mission and values.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Hospital Play Education, Child Development, or Psychology.
  • Experience: One to two years of experience as a Child Life Specialist preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Languages: Ability to communicate in additional languages.
  • Advanced Education: Master's Degree in Child Development.
