We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Contract Occupational Therapist in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and adolescents in a pediatric setting.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory integration, and functional abilities to determine individualized therapy goals.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans and interventions to address students' specific needs and facilitate their progress.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to student care.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy interventions as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provide training and support to teachers and staff on strategies and accommodations to promote students' functional independence and participation within the school environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including therapy plans, progress reports, and billing documentation.
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid State Occupational Therapist license.
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP (Individualized Education Program) process and experience in collaborating with special education teams.
- Strong understanding of various therapy techniques and interventions for children with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet student needs and documentation requirements.
