Surgical Technologist

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Washington Hospital Center. As a key member of the surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures, adhering to AORN standards and protocols.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures, while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Verify the proper functioning of equipment and instrumentation prior to each case.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure accurate setup and counting of instruments, sponges, and needles.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure seamless execution of procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized training in surgical technology or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in a surgical setting.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within four years of employment.
