- Properly code services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
- Prepare and send invoices or claims for payment or reimbursement
- Correct rejected claims and ensure accuracy
- Track payments and follow up with patients and insurance companies
- Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of Athena medical billing experience
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-9/10 coding systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to work independently and prioritize workload
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coding certificate
- Bachelor's degree
Work Environment:
- Typical office environment
