Host/Hostess - A Key Role at Denco Family Rialto

Denco Family restaurant is seeking a skilled and friendly Host/Hostess to join our team at the Rialto location. This individual will be responsible for greeting guests, seating them, and ensuring a positive dining experience. They will also be responsible for receiving payment, handling cash transactions, and assisting other service personnel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests immediately in a friendly and courteous manner upon arrival and acknowledge their departure
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and meet service cycle timing standards
  • Seat guests at clean, dry tables utilizing proper seating rotation and ensuring tables are set with menus and utensils
  • Determine and provide for any special needs of guests, such as high chairs or booster seats
  • Maintain a guest waiting list and adhere to proper seating order procedures
  • Describe promotions and suggestively sell while seating guests, taking initial beverage orders
  • Attend to any other guest needs during the entire dining experience, including refilling drinks and clearing tables
  • Demonstrate safe cash handling procedures in accordance with company policy and accurately complete cash, credit card, and discount transactions
  • Use proper telephone etiquette and communicate effectively with guests and other team members
  • Enter and deliver "To Go" orders correctly and efficiently
  • Address complaints promptly in a courteous manner, notifying a supervisor of any issues
  • Assist service personnel in providing beverage orders and refills, clearing and setting tables
  • Willingly assist other team members without being asked, demonstrating a team-oriented attitude
  • Maintain the foyer area of the restaurant clean, organized, and inviting to guests
  • Complete all required side-work, including deep cleaning assignments, to maintain a clean and welcoming environment
  • Adhere to Denco Family Brand Standards and internal policies and procedures
  • Provide courteous service and be cordial to all team members and guests

Qualifications:

  • Must have ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Meets Denco Family uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Must have excellent guest service skills
  • Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
