Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as an Admissions Nurse. This role will involve coordinating the nursing component of the Interdisciplinary Assessment for all new admissions, reviewing transferring information from other facilities, and acting as a liaison with admissions, pharmacy, and other departments to facilitate a smooth admission process.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate the nursing component of the Interdisciplinary Assessment for all new admissions
  • Review transferring information from other facilities and assimilate it with assessment data to assist team members in developing the plan of care
  • Act as a liaison with admissions, pharmacy, acute care facilities, and other departments to facilitate a smooth admission process
  • Evaluate all scheduled admissions for appropriateness
  • Make bed assignments for new admissions and transfers
  • Coordinate the patient's care and identified needs with other services and departments throughout the hospital
  • Coordinate transfer of patients between hospitals
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • One to two years' experience with an acute care facility
  • American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
