Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Family Peer Support Specialist to join our team at WES Health System. This role requires a unique blend of personal and professional experience, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role:

The Family Peer Support Specialist will provide support to families with children who have behavioral health challenges by sharing their own experiences and perspectives. This includes empowering families to understand their roles as members of the treatment team, providing coaching during meetings, and linking them to community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to families around Behavioral Health Services (BHS)
  • Empower families to take an active role in their child's treatment plan
  • Share personal experiences and perspectives with the treatment team to enhance understanding
  • Facilitate connections to new services and resources as needed
  • Document contacts and referrals in Credible
  • Participate in interagency meetings and represent the program/agency at community events
  • Escorting families to appointments and completing home and community visits
  • Maintaining accurate records and meeting productivity expectations

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver of a child with a mental, emotional, or behavioral health disorder
  • Full-time or part-time experience within the past three years

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
