Family Peer Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Family Peer Specialist to join our team at Comhar Inc. in Pennsylvania.
About the RoleThis is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an individual with lived experience as a family member of a child with behavioral health challenges. As a Family Peer Specialist, you will provide vital support to families navigating the Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) system.
Key Responsibilities- Engage families through stage-appropriate recovery education and introduction to IBHS services.
- Assist with orientation for new families receiving mental health and co-occurring disorders services.
- Facilitate engagement of service-resistant clients.
- Develop and implement educational and support groups tailored to the needs of the program community.
- Link individuals to community resources and peer supports outside the program, promoting community integration.
- Complete One Care Vermont Self-Sufficiency Outcome matrix with families.
- Participate actively in team meetings, fostering a recovery perspective.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a peer family specialist certification.
- At least two years of experience as an adult with lived experience as a family member of a child with behavioral health challenges.
- Valid PA State Criminal, FBI, and Child Abuse clearances, updated every three years per Comhar policy.
- A current ACT 31 (Child Abuse reporting certificate).
- An Adult and Child CPR w/AED & First Aid certification.

CompensationThe salary for this position is $32,175 per year, with opportunities for growth and professional development.
