Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a skilled Engineer to join our Digital and Asset Lifecycle Team. As a Facility Assessment Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the inspection and evaluation of facility assessment data to provide asset management and performance optimization support to various utility and engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage field-based asset inspection and performance evaluations of water, wastewater, and stormwater vertical and buried infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with current and future non-destructive assessment and condition monitoring activities and trends.
  • Coordinate and support multi-disciplinary teams, including solving field work-related logistical challenges.
  • Manage diverse data and asset information, providing input on assessment data interpretation and producing professional-quality reports.
  • Develop rehabilitation alternatives and designs, working closely with Asset Management, Design, and Safety teams.
  • Understand available pipeline inspection techniques and rehabilitation options.
  • Assist with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs for client organizations.
  • Develop maintenance plans for existing and future equipment vertical and linear assets.
  • Collaborate with project teams to prepare proposals, technical papers, presentations, reports, and implementation plans.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in water and/or wastewater facilities and/or buried infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of assessment for water and wastewater facilities, including planning and management of field inspections, selection and deployment of inspection technologies, interpretation of field data, and rehabilitation/replacement recommendations and technologies.
  • Awareness of internal and external assessment technologies and non-destructive testing techniques for vertical facilities and linear piping systems.
  • Experience managing consultant field staff and coordinating with client operations and engineering staff to plan and execute field work data collection.
  • Knowledge of facility and/or pipeline design.
  • Maintains a high regard for overall field work safety.
