Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Consultant to join our team at Atrium Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing enterprise-wide processes and practices. Your expertise will be essential in developing and maintaining relationships with internal departments and customers, as well as communicating technical information within your area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and ensure program compliance for the Facility Condition Assessment program.
  • Maintain comprehensive facility condition audits of buildings, grounds, fixed equipment, and infrastructure needs.
  • Provide leadership and direction for Energy and Sustainability initiatives, working with peer functions to achieve goals.
  • Supervise the development and implementation of Energy policies and procedures.
  • Enhance operational energy efficiencies, perform root cause analyses, and develop solutions to improve energy performance.
  • Develop and implement an infrastructure Capacity Management program to assess and monitor existing conditions and make recommendations for funding projects.
  • Work cooperatively with other enterprise departments and divisions, ensuring effective communications between departments.
  • Develop and submit reports of survey assessment findings and recommendations, and assist in identifying and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct physical environment rounds for Advocate accredited facilities and represent Advocate Facilities through community and professional organizations.
  • Implement and oversee special projects as directed by the Facilities leadership.
Additional Functions
  • Develop options and support the team in implementing real estate strategies, including market and service line analysis.
  • Analyze and interpret key real estate and healthcare data sources to drive real estate strategies and solutions.
  • Understand and apply real estate models and structures, incorporating financial implications and space requirements into solutions.
  • Manage the construction process and project life cycle, ensuring smooth transitions to other departments.
  • Communicate effectively with senior executives and navigate complex political situations.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related discipline. Five years of experience as a facilities professional in a healthcare setting or five years of experience in process improvement and consulting for healthcare or healthcare-related industries is required. Familiarity with TJC Environment of Care and/or DNV, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities Code, and OSHA Requirements for General Industry is also required. Familiarity with Licensure Requirements is preferred.
