About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Lancaster General. As a key member of our mental health services, you will provide high-level patient-centered care in psychiatry.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with patients to determine the most suitable treatment plan.
  • Recommend and order tests to diagnose conditions or assess the extent of illness.
  • Monitor lab results, medication adherence, and potential toxicities.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccinations, and other medical care.
  • Communicate procedures, test results, or prescribed treatment with patients.
  • Collaborate with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists when necessary.
Requirements
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an Accreditation Council on Medical Education-accredited institution.
  • Certification by the American Board of Family Medicine or board eligibility.
  • Current medical licensure from the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine or the PA State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Successful completion of a residency program.
  • Prior experience in clinical medicine.
  • A healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least three years of clinical patient care experience as a specialist.
Estimated Salary Range: $250,000 - $350,000 per annum
