Klassic Recruiting is collaborating with Hiscox to identify a skilled Underwriter specializing in General and Professional Liability. This role is pivotal in enhancing the underwriting team’s efforts in the Northern California and Pacific Northwest regions.
Role Summary:
Hiscox USA seeks a proactive and experienced General Liability / Professional Liability Underwriter to spearhead new business initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to excel in a dynamic environment that appreciates innovative risk management and exceptional execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, price, and negotiate insurance accounts in alignment with the company’s risk assessment strategies and guidelines for General and Professional Liability.
- Establish and nurture relationships with wholesale brokers across the Northern California and Pacific Northwest regions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, claims, finance, and marketing to enhance product offerings and support the financial success of the business unit.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, proposing strategies to boost productivity and profitability.
- Contribute to a cohesive professional team, working together to achieve regional objectives and uncover new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in underwriting General and Professional Liability insurance, with established broker relationships in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Outgoing personality with a strong attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.
- Proficient in basic sales principles and negotiation tactics, demonstrating a competitive spirit.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working independently while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Strong service orientation, effectively engaging with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
