Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Records Imaging Specialist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our Health Information Management department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our electronic medical record system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient documentation for scanning into our electronic record system, adhering to established criteria and deadlines.
  • Operate batch management software and batch scanners to efficiently scan and index documents.
  • Monitor work queues to ensure timely completion of priority tasks, including STAT, ED, and HIMSS24.
  • Perform quality reviews of scanned documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to medical record standards.
  • Rotate through various tasks, including document collection and courier duties, to support departmental productivity goals.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred; or formalized medical record technician training.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in an electronic medical record environment or related activities.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of EPIC and document management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to walk distances, lift, bend, and push heavy carts filled with medical records. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are also required for courier duties.
