Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team at KBR. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and implementation of instrumentation and controls systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical specialist leadership to multiple projects, influencing instrumentation specifications, control system specifications, and analyzer specifications.
  • Check and review projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead project instrumentation teams, mentoring earlier career department members and providing leadership in safety reviews and safety loop designs.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and interoffice teams, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and manage the preparation, review, and checking of instrument specification packages in accordance with client requirements and industry best practices.
  • Support work group leads on a wide range of project tasks, participating in the entire procurement life cycle and working closely with all disciplines.
  • Participate in special assignments tailored to meet candidates' area of technical focus, participating in department training programs, office-wide employee resource groups, and attending technical seminars.
Requirements
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 15 years of experience in the EPC industry or chemical/biofuels operating companies, with consideration given to experience with chemical site teams or project engineering backgrounds in related industries.
  • Working knowledge of other engineering disciplines, providing proactive leadership on all interdisciplinary design coordination efforts.
  • Ability to travel as needed to survey client sites.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with supervisory experience.
