Overview

As a Senior Judicial Officer, you will be responsible for supervising the execution of hearings and determining facts and legal conclusions in cases involving alleged breaches of criminal law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise magistrates and judicial matters requiring intervention before resolution.
  • Oversee magistrates conducting hearings and trials, including jury proceedings.
  • Evaluate evidence and enforce the submission of pertinent documents, including records and other materials.
  • Make rulings on the admissibility of evidence.
  • Manage the issuance of summons and orders for witness appearances.
  • Examine and administer oaths to witnesses during hearings and trials.

Perform necessary actions and implement appropriate measures to ensure the effective execution of duties assigned to the Magistrate.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Must possess a Juris Doctorate, be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, and have a minimum of 7 years of legal practice experience.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

Ability to operate independently and exercise authority as required.

Work Environment:

Standard office setting.
