Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Commodity Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the supply chain operations by sourcing and evaluating commodities for our product offerings and related accessories. This position entails managing materials from their initial stages through production and eventual phase-out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the development team on suitable components and vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing and availability of materials during the initial design phase.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners during production to ensure a steady supply of materials, addressing any requests for adjustments and delivery timelines while minimizing excess and obsolescence at the program's conclusion.
  • Identify second sourcing opportunities and implement cost-saving measures throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with commodity suppliers and distributors.
  • Negotiate advantageous pricing and terms for essential commodities and allocate them to our manufacturing partners.
  • Maintain an accurate Costed Bill of Materials for all product SKUs, assessing, selecting, and recommending new vendors to the development team.
  • Analyze market trends and assess risks when choosing partners and component solutions.
  • Address vendor disputes and manage warranty claims effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of four years' experience in supply chain or commodity management.
  • Understanding of financial markets and factors affecting electronic product pricing.
  • Experience with consumer commodities, including electronics and mechanical components.
  • Strong risk management capabilities, including risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and effective communication with vendors and suppliers.
  • Proven leadership abilities and the capacity to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • A passion for outdoor sporting activities is a plus.
