Position Overview:
The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for managing and documenting bid requests, serving as a project coordinator and assistant project manager to initiate various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and interpret bids, quotes, technical procedures, and relevant governmental regulations.
  2. Draft reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  3. Communicate effectively with personnel at various levels, as well as with vendors and their representatives.
  4. Calculate material and labor costs, including applicable discounts, and interpret percentages, margins, and mark-ups.
  5. Receive and log bid submissions.
  6. Verify specifications or purchase requests.
  7. Assess the feasibility of responding to bids.
  8. Engage with vendors regarding bid submissions.
  9. Compute pricing and pricing margins.
  10. Prepare bid summaries for managerial review and approval prior to submission.
  11. Generate reports on bid responses.
  12. Perform additional related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical estimating and proficiency with estimating software.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, including Lock-out/Tag-out, HAZMAT, and quality systems.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic algebra.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites for project reviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in electrical or industrial construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Consistent attendance record.
