POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Full-time Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager, you will oversee the organization’s comprehensive environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives.

Your role will be pivotal in fostering a culture of safety and sustainability through strategic leadership and expert guidance.

You will be tasked with developing, managing, and executing programs and initiatives that promote proactive practices, emphasizing prevention and mitigation strategies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
o Leading and supervising team members
o Coordinating workforce activities, including recruitment and personnel management
o Ensuring achievement of both short-term and long-term objectives
o Facilitating training and professional development for employees
o Maintaining effective communication with staff and various branches
o Conducting orientations for new hires
o Guaranteeing adherence to all applicable Federal, State, and local environmental health and safety regulations
o Executing accident investigations and job safety assessments
o Delivering employee orientation and annual safety training sessions
o Supporting District Managers with resources to ensure compliance with required safety training
o Assisting Distribution Center and store personnel with hazardous materials compliance
o Completing necessary administrative reporting and clerical tasks
o Coordinating adherence to safety standards and assisting in policy development
o Aiding in the creation and implementation of emergency action plans and safety procedures within the organization

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications are essential for this role:
o Minimum age of 18 years due to job requirements
o Valid driver's license issued in the relevant country, with a clean driving record
o A degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety, Public Health, Human Resources, Engineering, Construction, Law Enforcement, or a related field OR a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience OR at least 1 year of leadership experience at Fastenal
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
o Comprehensive understanding of occupational safety and industry regulations
o Self-motivated, customer-focused, and capable of leading a team
o Exceptional organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
o Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
o Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule
o Commitment to core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
o Capability to lift and manage packages weighing between 25lbs-50lbs, with occasional weights up to 100lbs
o Successful completion of required drug screening (applicable in specific regions)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o Previous experience or education in OSHA, EPA, safety operations, sustainability, environmental compliance, risk management, or a related discipline
o Relevant certifications or industry training (e.g., OSHA 30hr, Certified Safety Professional, Qualified Environmental Professional, Risk Management Certification)
o Willingness to travel approximately 40% of the time while maintaining a flexible schedule
