Job Title: Staff Engineer, HBM SoC Design Verification

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our Advanced Controller Development team at Samsung Semiconductor. As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and verifying the HBM (High-Bandwidth Memory) SoC (System-on-Chip) for our cutting-edge storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop verification environments for the HBM memory subsystem
  • Create verification plans and requirements from architecture specifications
  • Generate constraints and random test cases for directed and focused testing
  • Develop coverage models for function coverage and create SVAs to increase function coverage
  • Hold verification reviews with designers and architects to sign off on verification requirements
  • Build and maintain auto-verification flows for regression testing

Requirements:

  • BE in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 10+ years of experience; MS with 8+ years or Ph.D. with 5+ years of working experience in ASIC verification
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience in HBM memory subsystem and HVL methodology (UVM)
  • Solid verification skills in constrained random testing and debugging
  • Strong programming language skills including C++ and Assembly
  • Strong knowledge of coverage models and verification flow and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated problem-solver with an ability to work well in a team

Preferred Skills:

  • Deep understanding of flash memory controller architecture and related IP design, verification, and SOC implementation process and tools
  • Working knowledge of storage technologies (NAND flash, SSD, etc.) and emerging technologies (CXL, Computation in memory and storage, Ethernet-attached SSD, etc.)
  • Experience with performance modeling of embedded systems is beneficial
  • Track record of innovation and creativity in problem-solving
