Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Functional Test Engineer to join our team at Cyber Defense Technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for conducting tactical operations engineering and verification, ensuring the successful integration of information security controls and remediations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret functional tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support functional testing of hardened equipment.
  • Develop functional testing plans and identify functional problems and suggest resolutions.
  • Generate testing artifacts and provide functional test reports with inputs and recommendations.
  • Evaluate vendor technology and advise the customer of concerns.
  • Support customer Developmental and Operational Testing events.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of verification methods and results.
  • Assist in the development and update of verification processes and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Three years of experience performing functional testing on sensors and systems.
  • Three years of experience in full regression testing and experience with troubleshooting, quantifying, and documenting bugs.
  • Knowledgeable of systems engineering processes for the development of test requirements and assessment/verification requirements.
  • Possess a strong quantitative analysis and decision-making skills with an eye for detail.

Desired Experience:
  • Experience in system engineering and/or red team review of hardware/software solutions and requirements evaluation.
  • Fundamental experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with network traffic analysis/review (PCAP analysis).
  • Certification in penetration testing, reverse engineering, digital forensics, or cybersecurity in general.
