We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Support Aide to join our team at Tri-City Healthcare District. As an Environmental Services Support Aide, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, including unit-based safety and infection control requirements.
- Collect and dispose of bio waste and trash throughout the facility, ensuring proper receptacles are used.
- Collect and distribute linen, maintaining accurate records of linen usage and distribution.
- Maintain and clean floors according to organizational standards and schedules, using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Move and relocate patient beds, furniture, and equipment as assigned.
- Ability to push and pull a minimum of 750 lbs.
- Ability to lift and move a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Ability to understand proper floor care, trash collection, and linen distribution.
- Ability to work with and properly handle cleaning solutions and chemicals.
- Ability to complete on-the-job training, including proper operational procedures for cleaning equipment and tools.
- Minimum of 1 year previous housekeeping/janitorial experience.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and labels in English.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors, healthcare staff, and environmental service employees.
- Experience with stripping, waxing, and buffing of surgery/operating room floors according to AORN and Practice Guidelines for Healthcare Environmental Cleaning standards.
- Experience with floor scrubber/buffing equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning agents, equipment, and soil removal in an operating room environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current CA driver's license (evening shift only) within 6 months of hire or transfer.
