Job Title: School Aide - Oceanside, CA

Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Aide to join our team in Oceanside, CA. As a School Aide, you will work closely with students who require instructional and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement IEP objectives, including math, reading, speech, and independent skills, in a one-on-one or group setting.
  • Facilitate teacher-directed learning activities, such as lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement systems, small groups, social games, and work assistance.
  • Assist students during recess and lunch periods, as well as community experiences.
  • Communicate pertinent information to teachers and maintain confidentiality regarding student and parent information.
  • Assist with activities of prescribed programs, including those written by related service personnel, such as PT, OT, and SLP.
  • Support students in developing independent skills through self-care activities, such as toileting, clothing routines, and personal hygiene.
  • May be asked to assist in behavior management techniques at the direction of the teacher and/or other school professional.
  • Assist with clerical duties, including making stimuli, making copies, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, preparing materials, and assignment scoring.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and clients.
  • Computer proficiency preferred.
  • Successful completion of background screening and onboarding process.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
