Job Overview


The Beverage Operations Supervisor at Encore Boston Harbor is responsible for ensuring that all Beverage staff are performing their roles effectively.

This role involves the strategic organization of Beverage personnel prior to their assignments, as well as monitoring and overseeing their performance once deployed.

Due to the department's structure, the Beverage Operations Supervisor will be required to engage with multiple outlets across the venue, including dining establishments, lounges, service bars, and any other areas where beverage service is provided.

This includes, but is not limited to, managing departmental strategies and ensuring alignment with the overall objectives of Encore Boston Harbor; optimizing opportunities for departmental and organizational success; upholding all Encore Standards; and ensuring an exceptional experience for both guests and team members.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the implementation and adherence to all Encore Boston Harbor core values and departmental standards.
  • Oversee short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; assess operational effectiveness and implement necessary improvements.
  • Identify critical success factors.
  • Manage departmental performance, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of policies and procedures; maintain records and reports.
  • Supervise the performance of team members within the assigned area.
  • Monitor departmental activities to ensure compliance with internal policies, as well as federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Guarantee that the department delivers and maintains a high level of service and satisfaction throughout the property.
  • Facilitate effective communication across the property by organizing and leading regular meetings with team members within the department and collaborating with other departments as necessary.
  • Responsible for recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement within the department. Provide training opportunities and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Foster a motivating work environment.
  • Stay informed about new developments within the department and make recommendations to enhance departmental and company success.
  • Effectively manage guest relations, demonstrating patience, tact, and diplomacy. Address guest and team member concerns as appropriate.
  • Handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines, often in high-pressure situations.
  • Promote positive, fair, and ethical relationships with all team members and contractors, acting as an ambassador for the Encore brand.
  • Ensure timely submission of all beverage reports.
  • Maintain high morale among team members and foster good customer relations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director of Beverage on special projects, including seasonal menu updates.
  • Assist with special events and activations as needed.
  • Assign Beverage staff to various locations based on job requirements and team members' skills and experience.
  • Observe performance to evaluate efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prioritize safety and adhere to departmental and company safety standards.
  • Maintain relevant industry knowledge through ongoing education and training.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
