Position Overview:
This role involves serving as a deputy to the Navigation Division Chief, overseeing the development of comprehensive budgets, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring effective program execution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide and manage accounting resources essential for program delivery.

- Maintain communication with navigation interests regarding the operational status of Portland District navigation projects, conducting investigations into navigation challenges and recommending improvements.

- Guide project managers in finalizing plans and specifications for contracts, and offer necessary information and estimates for construction oversight involving contracted dredging services.

- Supervise personnel administration through subordinate supervisors, manage administrative functions, and participate in selection committees for employee promotions.

- Direct the Survey Section Chief and oversee Hydrographic and Land Survey operations within the district.
- Lead the planning for ongoing maintenance programs for authorized navigation projects.

Qualifications:
Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria and provide documentation to support their qualifications. Experience in maintenance activities related to dredging and navigation facility repairs is essential. The role requires program management expertise for preventive and major maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and structural components on navigation projects.

Specialized Experience:
Applicants should possess at least one year of specialized experience in managing maintenance activities, including planning, assigning, and coordinating work for subordinate staff in navigation project management.
