Job OverviewPosition Title: Youth Ministry Administrator
Status: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Reports To: Director of Youth Ministry
Salary Review: Annually by Executive Team

POSITION SUMMARY
The Youth Ministry Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the mission and vision of Word of Peace by delivering essential administrative and programmatic assistance to youth ministry initiatives. This position fosters a nurturing environment for volunteers and families, promoting spiritual growth across all age groups.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Administrative Duties
    • Facilitate communication and administrative tasks for youth ministry and confirmation programs.
    • Assist with the operational needs related to the confirmation ministry and Affirmation of Baptism.
  2. Volunteer Management
    • Collaborate with youth ministry staff to train and support volunteer leaders.
    • Welcome and provide hospitality to families involved in the confirmation process.
  3. Database Oversight
    • Manage church database systems for scheduling, small group coordination, and registration processes.
  4. Event Coordination
    • Offer administrative support to the Director of Youth Ministry and Youth Ministry Leader for various events.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  1. Relational Engagement
    • Develop relationships with children, youth, and families within the church and broader community.
    • Provide relational support to a diverse group of families.
  2. Team Collaboration
    • Work alongside a creative team in a multi-staff ministry environment.
    • Participate in weekly staff meetings and annual retreats as required.
  3. Program Involvement
    • Be available during program hours and assist with additional programming as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or a two-year degree with two years of relevant experience.
Demonstrates a passion for faith and a commitment to serving children, youth, and their families.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Effective communication skills across various platforms.
Maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
Exhibits sound decision-making capabilities.
Supports the theology of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
Adaptable to a dynamic ministry environment.
Values teamwork in a large church setting.
