Position Overview

The role entails comprehensive management of renewable energy assets and associated components within PSEG's portfolio of Renewable Energy Projects and Decarbonization / Electrification Initiatives.

These initiatives may encompass, but are not limited to, Hydrogen Production, Transmission, and Distribution Projects, Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Projects, Carbon Capture Projects, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Projects, Green Waste Energy Projects, Offshore Wind Generation and Transmission Projects, Building/Vehicle Electrification Projects, Energy Efficiency and any additional Renewable or Decarbonization Projects or initiatives that may be developed or implemented by PSEG.

This multifaceted position necessitates extensive experience in project development, execution, and operations. Strong skills in client relationship management, effective leadership, and the ability to influence are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the project development phase, identifying new growth opportunities for the company; develop new Renewable/Clean Energy and Decarbonization Projects from inception through construction; and manage asset performance to achieve business objectives.
• Oversee the project execution phase, including design, scheduling, budgeting, maintenance planning, procurement, construction, equipment installation, and commissioning/testing.
• Direct the operations phase, managing plant operations and maintenance, maintaining the O&M budget, and ensuring proper staffing and training, all with a focus on safety.
• Lead the development and design of electrical systems. Identify necessary systems, layouts, drawing development, equipment ratings, and operational requirements to support project objectives. Provide engineering expertise and oversight of engineering and design activities.
• Conduct thorough due diligence, assessments, and develop selection recommendations for major technologies, equipment, systems, and operational methodologies. Lead the development and support negotiations of FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) contracts.
• Identify project revenue streams, establish relationships with end users, and collaborate with internal PSEG departments to draft off-take agreements.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with key PSEG stakeholders, including the Valuation and Finance Teams, Tax Team, Government Affairs Teams, and Procurement and Legal Teams.
• Establish and nurture relationships with external user groups, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), architectural/engineering (A/E) firms, vendors, and other recognized industry experts.
• Continuously review the scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality of assigned development projects, facilitating any necessary changes as projects progress. Support the development, review, and approval of project execution plans, risk management plans, construction management plans, and corresponding site procedures.
• Monitor the operation, maintenance, and performance of assets; implement corrective actions to enhance asset performance; and engage with OEMs in the filing and resolution of warranty claims.

Qualifications

Required:

• Degree in Engineering or a related discipline; alternatively, 5 additional years of Power Generation experience in lieu of a degree.
• 10 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry with a broad background in engineering, operations, and maintenance.
• 10 years of experience in the development and/or implementation of large-scale projects.
• Strong project management and operational experience, with a solid understanding of leading diverse project teams and driving project performance.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and under high stress.
• Excellent presentation, analytical, and communication skills (both verbal and written) to effectively communicate with key stakeholders and influence specific actions/initiatives.
• Foster an inclusive work environment, respecting all aspects of diversity and embracing the strengths, perspectives, and personal choices of others.
• Willingness to travel as needed for multiple consecutive days throughout the year, occasionally internationally.

Desired:

• Expertise in electrical system design and engineering.
• Experience with offshore equipment, such as offshore substations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Hydrogen, Renewable Energy, Decarbonization, Nuclear, and Offshore Transmission Industries, along with related systems, equipment, and components.
