Key Responsibilities- Performs highly technical treatment and procedures for stable and unstable patients with complex conditions and co-morbidities requiring procedural sedation and specialized instrumentation.
- Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) independently and in accordance with LLUMC's established Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory) to achieve proficient individualized physical, psychosocial, and spiritual wellness and provide compassionate bereavement support.
- Meets qualifications, licensure, certifications, and competencies as defined in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care.
- Functions in a skills mix environment and effectively supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff in accordance with level of competency.
- Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in gastrointestinal diseases, treatments, and procedures.
- Represents nursing as an empowered profession and readily embraces new knowledge, innovations, and improvements.
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
- Completion of Moderate Sedation course required within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Gastrointestinal Registered Nurse (CGRN) preferred.
