Job Title: Patient Service Specialist

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Service Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients and visitors, ensuring a positive and efficient experience throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate, triage, and resolve patient issues using the HEART Model, ensuring a seamless and outstanding experience.
  • Provide proactive assistance to patients to minimize issues and ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Manage patient needs in waiting areas, interacting with patients, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform patient registration, pre-visit, insurance verification, scheduling, and departure desk activities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Facilitate billing functions, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met.
  • Enter and maintain confidential patient information, including insurance, billing, and payment details.
  • Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology, providing guidance, education, and hands-on training.
  • Support process improvement efforts and participate in committees as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two years of patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing, or customer service/concierge experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong ability to work independently and adapt to changing technology and processes.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute and possess basic math skills for processing insurance co-pays.
