Position Overview

SAIC is on the lookout for a Reliability Engineer to become a vital part of our dynamic Engineering Innovation Factory Team. This team of solution architects and digital engineers is dedicated to shaping and constructing the infrastructure that drives the Digital Engineering Transformation across various sectors. Our initiatives in creating digital ecosystems encompass a diverse range of programs, clients, and corporate projects that require Digital Engineering and Model Based Engineering applications and infrastructure, particularly in Defense, Federal Civilian, and National Security domains. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

As a member of our Engineering Innovation Factory Team, you will collaborate with other digital engineering experts and promote a deeper understanding of sustainment to aid in the development of digital work products. Engaging with the broader community, including Industry, Government, and Academia, will be essential to keep abreast of the latest trends, emerging technologies, methodologies, and techniques that can enhance our digital engineering capabilities. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor others on our solutions and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct reliability, maintainability, and availability (RAM) analysis, along with logistics and sustainment assessments, sparing analysis, and simulations that adhere to military and industry standards.
  • Advise on design or testing methodologies and perform statistical analyses.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+), Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
  • Compile and scrutinize performance reports and process statistics; investigate and analyze variables impacting RAM.
  • Utilize modeling and analysis tools such as ReliaSoft, Relyence, Ansys Medini, etc., for Probabilistic Risk Assessment and other RAM-related analyses.
  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies is preferred.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience in sustainment, integrated product support, or logistics. A Master's degree with 7+ years of experience or a PhD/JD with 4+ years of experience will also be considered. An additional 4+ years of experience may substitute for formal education.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance as required.
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Knowledge of DODI and JCIDS processes.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government agencies and processes.
  • Possession of at least one active professional certification or academic certificate obtained within the last five years, relevant to the specialty disciplines, such as ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, INCOSE ASEP or CSEP.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., SysML tools, DOORS, Cameo, SysML, or IBM).
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., miniTab, R, SPSS, Python, Tableau, Excel, etc.).
