Position Overview

SAIC is looking for a Reliability Engineer to be part of our dynamic Engineering Innovation Factory Team, comprised of solution architects and digital engineers. This role is pivotal in defining and constructing the infrastructure that drives the Digital Engineering Transformation across various sectors. Our initiatives in creating digital ecosystems encompass a diverse range of programs, clients, and corporate projects, all requiring the deployment of Digital Engineering and Model Based Engineering applications in Defense, Federal Civilian, and National Security contexts. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

As a member of the Engineering Innovation Factory Team, you will collaborate with other digital engineering experts and promote a comprehensive understanding of sustainment to aid in the development of digital work products. Additionally, you will engage with the broader community, including Industry, Government, and Academia, to remain informed about the latest trends and emerging technologies, methodologies, and techniques that enhance our digital engineering capabilities. Mentoring others on our solutions and standards will also be a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct reliability, maintainability, and availability analysis (RAM), along with logistics and sustainment assessments, sparing analysis, and simulations that adhere to military and industry standards.
  • Advise on design or testing methodologies and perform statistical analyses.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+), Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
  • Compile and evaluate performance reports and process statistics; investigate and analyze relevant variables impacting RAM.
  • Utilize modeling and analysis tools such as ReliaSoft, Relyence, Ansys Medini, etc., for Probabilistic Risk Assessment and other RAM-related analyses.
  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies is preferred.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience in sustainment, integrated product support, or logistics. A Master's degree with 7+ years of experience or a PhD/JD with 4+ years of experience will also be considered. An additional 4+ years of experience may substitute for formal education.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance as required.
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Knowledge of DODI and JCIDS processes.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government agencies and processes.
  • At least one active professional certification or academic certificate obtained within the last five years, related to the specialty disciplines, such as ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or INCOSE ASEP/CSEP.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., SysML tools, DOORS, Cameo, SysML, or IBM).
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, R, SPSS, Python, Tableau, Excel, etc.).
