Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Registered Nurse to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital. As a NICU RN, you will provide excellent patient care to pediatric patients and offer support to their parents, focusing on emotional encouragement and education.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general nursing duties in a medical/surgical observation unit for pediatric patients.
  • Evaluate and document each patient's response to interventions and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition.
  • Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and families; communicate with social service/discharge planner regarding both in hospital and post discharge needs.
  • Work closely with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans and examinations.
  • Educate parents on day-to-day operations/goals, treatment plans and at home care procedures.
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
Requirements
  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse License.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification.
