Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty:
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in pediatric intensive care units to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

Job Duration:
13 weeks

Shift:
Variable 3x12-Hour Shifts (Day: 07:00 - 19:00; Night: 19:00 - 07:00)

Guaranteed Hours:
60 Hours per 2 weeks

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Level 3 or 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is required.

Must-Have:

  • Experience in Level 3 NICU/PICU or Adult ICU with strong PICU experience
  • Trauma and pediatric/PICU experience
  • Familiarity with Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory therapy for pediatric and adult patients in a Level 2 Trauma, Magnet Facility
  • Work in a 28-bed adult ICU, 9-bed PICU, and 66-bed level 3 NICU
  • Administer various respiratory therapies including NIV, high flow, nebulizers, CPT, nitric oxide, and Flolan nebulizer
  • Operate Draeger ventilators for adults, Servo-I for PICU and NICU, 3100A and 3100B ventilators, and Jet ventilators in the NICU
  • Participate in open-heart surgeries for adult patients
  • Float within the facility to meet patient care needs within scope
  • Complete all orientation and training modules pre-start and annually
  • Work requirement includes two of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
  • Be flexible with scheduling as clinicians will not be accommodated for block scheduling
  • Understand and utilize EPIC charting system for patient records
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure best patient care practices
