Position Overview:

As a vital member of the Capital Group, you will excel as a Research Associate in the Fixed Income sector. Your role will involve close collaboration with seasoned Fixed Income Investment Professionals and fellow associates to provide insightful analysis and research that informs investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in comprehensive bottom-up fundamental research and analysis that influences investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with investors to generate innovative investment ideas and oversee existing holdings through detailed research on companies and their respective industries.
  • Conduct financial modeling, facilitate discussions with management teams, sell-side analysts, and industry experts.
  • Perform relative value assessments and analyze capital structures as part of the investment process for both investment grade and high yield corporate credit.
  • Take on progressively complex projects while receiving mentorship from experienced investment professionals.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, STEM, or a related discipline.
  • A genuine passion for a career in fixed income, particularly in corporate credit.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in fixed income or credit research, with a preference for those who have covered both investment grade and high yield corporate credit.
  • A strong commitment to developing fundamental credit research skills in partnership with experienced professionals.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and fundamental credit analysis, utilizing tools such as Bloomberg and other research resources.
  • A collaborative mindset, thriving in team environments, and sharing insights proactively.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to various work styles and expectations.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and analytical capabilities in navigating complex financial markets and industry trends.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment in addressing complex issues.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with Aladdin, data visualization tools (such as Tableau or PowerBI), and/or Python is advantageous but not essential.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $139,498-$223,197. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, along with Capital's annual profitability bonus. Furthermore, a retirement plan is available where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
