Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Operations Leader to join our team at Amcor plc. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of a manufacturing department, including safety, quality, productivity, cost, and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership: Act as a safety leader and prioritize safety in all responsibilities. Collaborate with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Quality and Productivity: Establish, maintain, communicate, and enforce safety, quality, waste, and productivity standards to meet plant goals. Maintain department housekeeping per 5S and GMP standards.
  • Performance Management: Oversee and manage the Performance Control System (PCS) for the department, including establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), auditing Supervisor/Operator shift meetings, and leading department meetings.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work with the Plant Leadership team to identify continuous improvement opportunities in the department. Assist with the execution of CI efforts to address opportunities and ensure standards are updated and adhered to.
  • Supervision: Supervise salaried staff of Shift Supervisors, responsible for all elements of supervision, including hiring, terminations, recognition, discipline, training, employee relations, performance management, and salary administration.
  • Investigations and Compliance: Ensure that investigations are completed for any injuries, incidents, and near misses, and that follow-up action items are completed in a timely manner.
  • Capital Projects and Customer Satisfaction: Recommend capital projects and ensure needs, ROI, and KPIs related to these projects are documented and submitted per Amcor policies. Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Standard Operating Conditions and Productivity: Ensure that accurate Standard Operating Conditions (SOCs) are in place and followed. Maintain productivity standards based on SOCs, best practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Culture and Values: Promote a strong safety culture and environment. Adhere to Amcor values and contribute to a high-performance culture.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with emphasis on a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
